An ATEX-certified high speed door is made exclusively of materials that are explicitly suitable for potentially explosive environments. All metal parts of the ATEX high speed door are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel has the advantage that, unlike normal steel, it does not contain magnesium, which can pose a potential hazard in connection with sparks or other ignition sources. Furthermore, all non-metallic parts that are 20 square centimetres or larger must be made of antistatic or non-conductive materials. A drive technology specially developed for ATEX areas also ensures that there is no risk of sparking due to friction. Only if these basic requirements are met is a high speed door suitable for potentially explosive areas and can be used as an ATEX high speed door.
