HID converged credentials connect physical and digital access

HID’s Crescendo^® cards and keys support secure access to both physical spaces and digital systems. They can combine physical access control technologies with digital authentication methods such as FIDO2, PKI, and OATH. HID’s IDmelon solution provides another option by allowing customers to use existing physical access cards as FIDO2 authenticators.

For customers, this means one credential can do the work of many. Employees can use a single card or key to enter the workplace and authenticate securely to digital services. Organizations can reduce the number of credentials they need to issue and manage, while supporting stronger security across both physical and digital environments.

The solutions are also designed to work with different access technologies. For example, Crescendo cards can support several physical access standards on one card, including older and newer reader technologies. This helps customers continue using existing systems while gradually moving toward more modern and secure options.
