ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in door opening solutions. It is also the leader in building information modelling (BIM) innovation, allowing it to meet the growing demand & world-wide adoption of BIM processes & standards.

Building Information Modelling, or BIM, is a building’s digital representation of its physical and functional characteristics. This 3D visualization allows for cross-disciplinary communication through the use of intelligent objects.

ASSA ABLOY provides access to product information through the use of downloadable BIM objects or files. These objects contain an unbelievable wealth of information that could affect a building through its life-cycle; from development to ongoing facility management.

ASSA ABLOY provides a number of door families and BIM files from many of its brands & regions, such as:

Introducing ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio™

ASSA ABLOY has developed a cloud-based BIM software tool called ASSA ABLOY Openings Studio™.

This industry-leading plugin significantly improves the process of door scheduling, allowing you to focus on design, installation and management. Openings Studio was built for architects, contractors, distributors and end user facility owners working in 3D Building Information Model (BIM) environments.

Openings Studio users can create “complete opening” models with doors, frames and hardware specifications. Challenging projects such as K-12, Healthcare, Universities, government facilities and other institutional or commercial projects can be easily managed.

  • Cloud-based, password protected modules.
  • Integrate with BIM design software platforms, such as Autodesk Revit®.
  • Make “complete openings” using a unique configuration engine, which produces doors, frames, hardware and specifications.
  • Render complete openings, with hardware. These can be previewed in 3D, prior to final documents printing, and seen in context using the Building View tool.
  • Materials and finishes are high quality, with hardware placed at industry standards, to assist with design decisions and approvals.
  • Compare material selection and value propositions through a non-proprietary database that includes variable pricing options to guide product decisions.
  • Access and download manufacturer catalogues, technical data sheets, wiring diagrams, templates, photo galleries and more.
