ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems unveils next-generation RT1000 Spiral High Speed Door

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems has launched the new ASSA ABLOY RT1000, a high-performance external spiral door designed to deliver outstanding operational efficiency, thermal performance and long-term reliability in fast-moving industrial settings.

Purpose-built for facilities where speed and uptime are critical, the RT1000 achieves opening speeds of up to 1.75 m/s and controlled closing speeds of up to 0.6 m/s. At its core is RapidTech1000, an advanced operating system featuring a single-track spiral with high-velocity gliders. This optimised spiral curve ensures rapid, smooth door travel while maintaining stability and reducing wear. The integrated drive unit enables a compact, space-saving installation, allowing the door to be seamlessly incorporated into a wide range of building designs.

The RT1000’s insulated 50 mm high-density foam panels, combined with effective side frame and lintel sealing, help to minimise heat loss and improve energy efficiency. Double-glazed, burglar-resistant polycarbonate vision panels enhance both security and natural light transmission, achieving RC2 burglar resistance in accordance with DIN TS 18194. With wind resistance up to Class 3 under EN 12424, the door is well suited to exposed external openings where performance under pressure is essential.

The ASSA ABLOY RT1000 is ideal for logistics hubs, warehousing and distribution centres, manufacturing facilities, automotive plants, food and beverage production sites and large-scale retail distribution operations. Its high-speed functionality supports smooth traffic flow for forklifts, HGVs and automated systems, while helping to maintain internal climate control in temperature-sensitive environments.

Safety features including an integrated light curtain and LED traffic light strip help to protect pedestrians and vehicle operators, while a frequency converter control system ensures controlled and optimised door movement. Remote monitoring capabilities further support efficient operation and proactive maintenance planning.

Constructed from long-life components and common, readily available ASSA ABLOY parts, the RT1000 has been engineered for durability and low maintenance. Its clean, flush design without visible hinges, quick-access column covers and integrated actuators provide both aesthetic appeal and ease of servicing.
