We offer four one-hour CPD accredited modules, on specifying Architectural Hardware.
1. Code-compliant Fire Doors and Hardware
This CPD module simplifies the standards and regulations crucial for specifying fire doors and hardware across various applications. The CPD Training will provide:

- A working knowledge of the construction and detailing of fire windows and doors
- NZS4520 Fire Rated Door sets - code requirements
- Door design options – interior, exterior and glass internal walls
2. Demystifying Architectural Hardware
This CPD module demystifies the standards and regulations that are integral in specifying door hardware for any application. To help our clients understand the basic principles for the successful specification of architectural hardware.
The CPD Training will provide:
- Gain a better understanding of the terminology and phrases used when specifying architectural hardware
- Gain an understanding of how to specify architectural hardware
- Obtain insight into the standards and regulations that affect architectural hardware
3. BIM – Doors + Hardware Best Practices
This CPD module will briefly cover what BIM means to us, its evolution, and its impact on door and hardware specifications. It also shares best practices to make the door and hardware specification process quicker and more seamless.
The CPD Training will provide:
- Resources for creating BIM Door Object
- Leveraging the resources to Door + Hardware specification
- Third-party plug-ins and software together to significantly improve the conventional specification and scheduling process
4. AAES CPD - Benefits & Considerations NZ
This CPD module by ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems explains the different types and configurations of Automatic entrance solutions. The aim of this presentation is to increase the knowledge and to discuss safety, benefits, and considerations on the Automatic entrance.
The CPD Training will provide:
- Understanding of the Operator types, configurations, and activations
- Discuss the safety consideration and fire strategy with NZ standards.
- Services and maintenance requirements
