Quality products and secure access management
The ABLOY CUMULUS product range offers keyless access management solutions, such as mobile keys, padlocks, key deposits, swing handles and controllers. The products can be used with various software solutions. For example, our ASSA ABLOY Access® cloud-based access management platform is designed to manage your digital, electromechanical and mechanical locking solutions.
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) enable integration with third-party systems. The mobile software development kit allows organisations to add CUMULUS functionalities to their own mobile apps.
CUMULUS Padlock
The CUMULUS keyless smart padlock feature Bluetooth® Low Energy connectivity. The robust Super Weather Proof lock is designed to work in harsh conditions. The padlock is available in two versions: with a fixed shackle (EN16864 security grade 4) and with a removable shackle (EN16864 security grade 4). Both versions provide IP68 protection.
The padlock is battery-powered with a real-time clock and Bluetooth® connectivity, constantly logging its status. Audit trails are transferred to the backend service via the mobile application. The lock can also be supplied with backup power if the battery is flat.
CUMULUS Key Deposit
The CUMULUS Key Deposit enables keyless access to property maintenance keys using a smartphone via a Bluetooth Low Energy connection. With IP66/68 and IK10 certifications, the Key Deposit is designed to work in harsh environments.
Property managers can conveniently grant access to different user groups via the user's mobile phone, without unnecessary key logistics or changes to the traditional locking solution.
CUMULUS Swing Handle
The CUMULUS Swing Handle is ideal for outdoor cabinets used by telecom, energy and data centre companies, as well as utilities. The handle enables keyless opening, using only a mobile phone. With a robust structure, the handle is waterproof and designed for harsh conditions. The product has IP66 and IK10 ratings and has passed DIN EN 1630 RC2 burglary resistance tests.
The Swing Handle is battery-powered and has a real-time clock. Its use is recorded as an audit trail in the event log, which can be used to trace anomalies, for example. If the battery is depleted, the handle can be operated with a backup power source.
The product can be ordered with a built-in mechanical backup. This allows the handle to be opened with a mechanical key, if necessary. Thanks to its batteries, the handle records audit trails even when it is used with a key, maintaining situational awareness.
CUMULUS Controller
The CUMULUS controller is the ideal solution if you want to enable keyless access. With the controller, you can make any electric lock or other electronic door locking device work with a mobile app. It not only works with ABLOY products but also with hardware of any brand with compatible wiring.
The controller tracks usage and automatically records opening and locking events. You can access these logs in your management system.
It is operated locally via a Bluetooth® connection from a mobile device using ABLOY BEAT CUMULUS or any other compatible mobile application.

The latest development in access management is the use of digital keys via personal smart devices. Our keyless access solution, ABLOY CUMULUS, is designed to meet future needs. With CUMULUS, we provide the access payload to a lock without any prior programming. Using strong encryption and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), we give users access rights that only a specific lock can read, authenticate and authorise. As encryption algorithms evolve and smart devices gain more processing power, we can use more sophisticated encryption schemes in access management.
