Smart and secure: Better with battery
Thanks to batteries, CUMULUS offers smart products that are versatile, secure and aware of their state. Battery-powered Bluetooth® technology ensures consistent user experience across smart devices. Unlike NFC technology which requires close proximity, Bluetooth® allows seamless operation even from a distance, for example opening a lock from within a vehicle – without opening the window. You can grant users access without them even needing to take out their smart device.
Long-lasting battery that is easy to replace
CUMULUS uses recyclable Li-ion batteries that have a life expectancy up to five years, making battery replacement infrequent. Replacing the battery is straightforward and can be easily integrated into regular workflows. The system notifies you of a low battery, so you are prepared when the time for replacement comes. Battery status information is available through the management system visible on the mobile application, and even the led indicators on the locks provide this information.
A continuously evolving smart solution
The battery together with Bluetooth® makes it possible for the CUMULUS device to report its status real-time, even when there is no user around. It allows operation of devices remotely from your management system. These features will be added to the always evolving CUMULUS portfolio in the near future. Powered by a battery, the locks and other products create a smart solution.

CUMULUS hardware is operated with users’ smartphones. The CUMULUS platform makes it fast and easy to distribute access rights with less logistics. As there is no need to hand out physical keys, less logistics contribute to a smaller environmental impact and the use is cost-effective.

Battery-operated smart locking devices ensure safe use and continuous development. Batteries eliminate the constraints of wires, providing flexibility to adapt for future needs with less hardware and lower costs.
Online and offline access rights
Access rights work without continuous network connection, if one is not always available. This makes CUMULUS devices an excellent choice for all locations, within or outside the network coverage area.
Easy management of access rights
Manage access rights and ABLOY CUMULUS products using the access management system of your choice, such as ASSA ABLOY Access. Application programming interfaces enable integration with third-party systems – such as booking, reporting, resource management and access control systems. A mobile software development kit allows organisations to add CUMULUS functionalities to their own mobile apps.
