Rödl & Partner Gliwice
The Rödl & Partner building has been designed as medium-high (4 storeys), with the predominant office function
On the ground floor, accessible from the level of Zygmunta Starego Street, an independent catering facility is located, as well as a server room and a warehouse for the office premises. The next three levels have been allocated to an office function (accounting offices), characterised by an open plan and freedom of arrangement. An independent conference room and a terrace are additionally designed on the top floor. On all floors, in the same place, the following facilities have been designed: toilets, lift shaft with staircase, utility rooms, social rooms and installation shafts. Entrances to these repetitive rooms are accessible from corridors located along the south-east façade. Between the entrances, ceiling penetrations have been designed so that people in the corridor have a view of the other levels and the impression of a continuous wall from the ground floor to the roof.
The body of the building is simple and designed in a contemporary style. The façades are finished with fibre cement panels on an aluminium frame. The irregular windows on Zygmunta Starego Street (south-east side) and on the side elevations were covered with the same perforated panels. The windows on the side of the entire complex (north-west) are much larger and are covered by screen fabric blinds (a composition of polyester and PVC). It is possible to adjust the blinds according to the needs of the employees. The entrances to the building from Zygmunta Starego Street are covered by a simple roof finished with panels like the rest of the façade planes. The entrance from the north-west, on the other hand, is located in the arcade. Access to entrances are lit and shaped to provide access for disabled people in wheelchairs.
The Rödl & Partner office building is constructed entirely using high-quality ASSA ABLOY components. Access control is implemented using ABLOY electric locks and, in the case of glass doors, using Eff-Eff 934 series electric strikes for glass. ABLOY mechanical locks and IKON electric lock hardware were also supplied to the facility. The entire facility operates with a master key system based on ABLOY Protec cylinders.
