Sr Solution Architect

ASSA ABLOY is building a new generation of AI‑driven digital capabilities to connect highly fragmented product, engineering, and manufacturing landscapes into a coherent semantic digital thread.

As Senior Solution Architect, you will play a strategic role in shaping and governing the architecture of this transformation. You will define how product and manufacturing data is semantically connected, enriched, retrieved, and reasoned upon using a different spectrum of AI technologies, enabling faster innovation, better decisions, and scalable digitization across divisions.

This role will be part of the Product Development Digitalization, the team is formed by highly experienced people located in Sweden, India and Poland and works  with stakeholders located in Asia, Europe and Americas.

What you will do as our Senior Solution Architect

  • Architect AI‑ and LLM‑enabled solutions grounded in product and manufacturing data (e.g. semantic search, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, AI‑assisted data extraction).
  • Define approaches for semantic modeling, including metadata strategies, ontologies, graph/knowledge representations, and embedding‑based retrieval.
  • Plays a key role in defining a target architecture for AI‑enabled semantic digital thread capabilities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and service domains.
  • Define patterns for hybrid architectures, integrating on‑premise manufacturing systems with cloud platforms.
  • Lead architecture for ETL/ELT pipelines, data migration, transformation, and integration across PLM, MES, ERP, QMS, PIM and legacy systems.
  • Provide end‑to‑end architectural explanations through workshops, system demos, and technical reviews.
  • Actively collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, enterprise architects, and security teams to translate requirements into effective solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate cross‑functional and multicultural workshops, uncovering real business needs and aligning on priorities.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or demonstrates equivalent professional experience.
  • Brings 10+ years of experience in solution, system, or enterprise architecture, with a proven track record of delivering complex cloud‑based and data‑centric solutions.
  • Has hands‑on experience with AI / LLM systems, including data processing, integration, migration, and intelligent retrieval solutions (semantic search, metadata, knowledge graphs).
  • Demonstrates strong expertise in data architectures, APIs, microservices, event‑driven systems, and working with large‑scale manufacturing and engineering data (structured & unstructured).
  • Is familiar with engineering and manufacturing data ecosystems such as PLM/PDM, MES, ERP, and related integrations.
  • Has exposure to AWS AI & Data services (e.g. Bedrock, SageMaker, Glue, OpenSearch, Lake Formation), along with IAM, security architecture, monitoring, and the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
  • Combines strong ownership and leadership skills with excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and the ability to bridge business needs with technological capabilities in complex, multicultural environments.
