MSL FlipLock e-check and d-check: a new generation of motorized locks
FlipLock e-check and d-check cover around 90 percent of the typical requirements in building projects. The two motorized locks combine numerous functions directly in the lock without additional external components. This saves space, reduces costs, and simplifies planning and installation.
This solution is based on the many years of experience of ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG, including in the development of MSL lock technology. With a wide product portfolio and consistent compliance with all security regulations, we offer systems that work in practice.
What are FlipLock e-check and d-check locks?
FlipLock e-check and d-check add two specialized motorized locks to the MSL FlipLock family:
- FlipLock e-check: handle-controlled motorized lock with panic function B
- FlipLock d-check: motorized opening lock with panic function E
Intelligent main circuit board with direct monitoring
The newly developed main circuit board has two monitoring contacts that you can read out directly via the lock. This allows you to equip doors with access control requirements without external control units.
The circuit board also allows flexible function adjustments: you determine the open time, configure the signal duration for motorized door drives, and define delay times for bolt and handle contacts according to your requirements.
Convenient configuration via rotary switches
FlipLock e-check and d-check have two integrated rotary switches for secure configuration:
- Rotary switch 1: select the desired function
- Rotary switch 2: assign appropriate values
The locks acknowledge each rotary switch adjustment with an acoustic signal: each step is accompanied by a different note and a final confirmation after successful entry.
What are the advantages of MSL FlipLock e-check and d-check?
FlipLock e-check and d-check combine security, flexibility, and convenience in a compact motorized lock. Key benefits for your projects:
- Integrated tamper protection: the lock detects tampering attempts and retracts the bolt by a motor. This protects the frame from damage and prevents the door from being left open unsecured.
- Configurable monitoring contacts: both integrated contacts can be evaluated directly on the lock without an external control unit and can be flexibly set to the desired functions and values via the rotary switches.
- Configurable open time: set the open time between 2.5 and 10 seconds to suit your project. The factory setting is 2.5 seconds.
- Precise actuation of the door drive: the lock controls motorized door drives and synchronizes the signals with the set open time.
- Comprehensive readout functions: retrieve data such as number of door cycles, motor cycles, and fault messages directly from the lock – without external devices.
For which areas of application are FlipLock e-check and d-check suitable?
Healthcare facilities
In hospitals and nursing homes, FlipLock e-check and d-check combine access control with quick escape route release – especially in areas with high foot traffic.
Educational institutions
Schools and universities benefit from the flexible configuration: doors can be adjusted differently depending on the time of use without changing the hardware.
Administrative buildings and office complexes
The integration with access control systems and motorized door drives is suitable for prestigious entrance areas with automated door solutions.
Industrial and logistics buildings
In areas with both high security requirements and high foot traffic, the configurable monitoring contacts ensure reliable control.
