effeff’s 118 series electric strikes provide convincing versatility and quality. They are simple to install and adjust, easy to mix and match, and are safe, reliable, and robust. The universal electric strike solution meets the requirements of various areas of application.
Simple to install and adjust
With compact dimensions (66 mm x 16 mm x 25.5 mm) and a radius keeper, the Electric strike 118 minimizes the usual cut-out in the frame for the latch to open. Optionally available with ProFix2, the cut-out in the frame is omitted. Thanks to FaFix, the electric strike can be subsequently adjusted to the latch striker plate, with an adjustment range of 3 mm.
Enhanced Security
With an impressive break-in resistance of at least 3,750 N and up to 9,000 N, these electric strikes effectively protect against tampering and burglary attempts. The robust security technology meets the safety requirements in private, commercial, and public areas.
Easy to mix and match
In addition, the Electric strike 118 is compatible with all standard striking plates on the market, including striking plates for plastic profiles, which makes it easy to mix and match, and to install.
High degree of flexibility
The Electric strike 118 is very flexible thanks to the optional preload electronics. For even more customization options, we offer replacement parts with electric levers and various connection cable lengths. This makes the Electric strike 118 the ideal choice for different doors and installation situations, whether standard doors, smoke protection doors, or fire protection doors.
Versatile functionality
With a convenient plug/clamp connection and a bipolar protection diode suitable for direct and alternating current, these electric strikes ensure optimal protection for connected electronic devices. The integrated monitoring contact reliably informs a higher-level system whether the door is open or closed.
Quality tested
These electric strikes have successfully passed an endurance test of 250,000 cycles and meet the requirements of DIN EN 14846. They also have VdS approval, which guarantees high quality and security. Rely on a tested and certified solution for maximum reliability and durability.
A wide range of accessories
With preload electronics that improve the preload characteristic to at least 300 N in DC operation, these electric strikes provide outstanding performance. A dummy component with an electronic lever and different cable lengths provide maximum flexibility and versatility.

The 118 electric strike family model variants
We offer numerous different electric strikes from the 118 model series – including electric strikes that work with operating or quiescent current, as well as with a lock or a switching lock. The numerical designation of the electric strikes tells you how they work.
- 118 = Operating current: These electric strikes unlock when power is supplied. In addition, the door can be opened as long as current is supplied.
- 128 = Locking: These electric strikes unlock when power is briefly supplied and remain unlocked until the door is opened once.
- 138 = Quiescent current: Electric strikes with quiescent current lock when power is supplied. If the power supply is interrupted, for example by a switch, the door can be opened.
- 148 = Switching lock: These electric strikes also unlock when power is briefly supplied, but do not have a locking pin in the electric strike latch.
All models are available as ProFix2, ProFix1, or without a latch bolt guide.

Areas of application for the Electric strike 118
Standard applications
The standard electric strikes from the 118 model series are used on wooden or metal doors. Models with ProFix2 are also available.
Electric strikes for fire protection doors
The Electric strike 118F for fire protection doors has a radius keeper, FaFix adjustment in 0.5 mm increments, universal voltages, a bipolar diode and a symmetrical design in the standard configuration. For this reason, the electric strikes can be used on the DIN left and DIN-right as well as horizontally.
Electric strikes for smoke protections
You can choose between electric strikes for smoke protection doors from the 118S model series with ProFix1, 2 or without. Model 111U complies with the legal requirements that have been in force for smoke protection doors since 2001.
Water-resistant electric strike
The electric strikes of the 118W model series have an adjustable latch and are ideal for use outdoors, for example on garden doors. Here too, you can choose between models with ProFix1 or 2.
EX electric strikes
These electric strikes are designed for use in potentially explosive areas. You can choose between electric strikes with quiescent current or operating current as well as pneumatic openers that lock or unlock without pressure.
