What would you do as our Finisher / Painter?
The Finisher/Painter is responsible for preparing, repairing, and finishing commercial steel doors and frames to meet quality and appearance standards. This role focuses on surface preparation, filler application, and industrial finishing processes to ensure products are ready for final delivery. This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Finishing and Surface Preparation Responsibilities
- Prepare metal doors and frames by sanding, grinding, and repairing surface imperfections.
- Apply Bondo and similar fillers to create smooth, uniform surfaces.
- Perform detailed shaping, sanding, and feathering to meet finish standards.
- Mix and apply industrial primer using spray equipment.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and appearance.
Production Support Responsibilities
- Follow work orders and supervisor instructions to ensure proper finishing requirements.
- Maintain tools, spray equipment, and workstations in clean working condition.
- Communicate with team members to ensure production timelines are met.
- Support general production activities as needed.
General Responsibilities
- Promote a safe and efficient working environment by following safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
The Skills and Experience You Need
- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial painting or manufacturing finishing.
- Strong experience using Bondo or similar fillers on metal surfaces.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read work orders and follow instructions.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a production environment.
- Experience in commercial door and frame manufacturing is a plus
- Experience using grinders, sanders, and surface preparation tool is a plus
