Regional Operations Director

SUMMARY

The Regional Operations Director (ROD) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing operational performance across the West Region; which includes Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, and Mississippi. This role ensures alignment with company goals in budget management, operational expenses (OPEX), revenue growth, and customer value delivery.

The ROD leads a multi-state team of managers and staff across Field Service, Project Management, and Support. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Customer Support, Supply Chain, and centralized teams to ensure consistent service excellence and project delivery across the region, and in cooperation with other regions.

The ROD plays a proactive role in ensuring projects are executed on time and within scope, in partnership with the Projects Team. The Regional Operations Director is also responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction, driving modernization efforts, and identifying better solutions for existing customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational direction across the Western Region
  • Lead Field Service Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and customer expectations.
  • Own and manage the West Region budgets, OPEX, and revenue targets; ensure financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across service delivery, project execution, and customer engagement.
  • Partner with the Projects Team to ensure timely and successful execution of all regional projects.
  • Champion customer value by ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactively identifying opportunities to improve solutions for existing customers.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs across all regions, including revenue, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure consistent infrastructure, tools, processes, and training are available to West Region teams to support scalable operations.
  • Develop and implement quality standards and operational procedures to enhance service and project outcomes.
  • Forecast revenue, costs, and resource needs across all states within the region; report performance to executive leadership.
  • Promote service contract growth and profitability in collaboration with FSM and Central Support.
  • Ensure compliance with service commitments, inventory management, and asset accountability.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and development planning for direct reports and ensure cascading feedback throughout the organization.
  • Lead bi-annual performance reviews and talent development initiatives.
  • Continuously assess and optimize team structure to support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for customer issues and ensure resolution aligns with company standards.
  • Represent the company in customer meetings and industry engagements to reinforce SKIDATA’s position as a trusted partner.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, preferably within SKIDATA or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-state teams and delivering results across diverse markets.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L ownership, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization and collaborate effectively with global counterparts.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.

EDUCATION

  • University degree in Business, Technology, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced business qualification preferred.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid Driver's License in state of residence.

LANGUAGES AND TRAVEL

  • Fluent English required; Spanish or German a plus.
  • Domestic travel up to 40%, including visits to all covered regions.
