Android Developer
Location: Landskrona (Sweden) - Hybrid
ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions is shaping how people move through secure environments around the world. From hotels and hospitality to advanced access solutions, our technology is used globally—often behind the scenes, but always mission-critical.
We are now looking for an Android Developer to join our R&D organization and help build the next generation of mobile service tools used daily by technicians and partners in the field.
These tools support Visionline and Vostio—two of the world’s leading access control systems for hotels—used by thousands of properties globally. This solution is already in production. These applications install, configure, diagnose, and maintain real systems, in real hotels, where reliability matters and bugs have consequences.

What you will do
You will be part of a cross-functional R&D team responsible for our Android-based service applications supporting both Visionline and Vostio. Your work will directly impact how efficiently and reliably our access solutions are deployed worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and maintaining Android applications using latest technology.
• Designing and implementing new features that improve field technician workflows.
• Collaborating closely with backend engineers, product managers, and UX designers.
• Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code—and helping others do the same.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership in a complex domain.
Required qualifications
• Several years of hands-on experience with modern Android development.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and Jetpack libraries.
• Solid understanding of coroutines, Flows, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with common Android architecture patterns (MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience with automated testing (unit, UI, integration).
• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions together with other teams.
Nice to have
• Experience with Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, or other device communication.
• Experience building apps with strong requirements on security and offline behavior.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Backend or API design experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Golang development experience.
• Experience with USB Serial communication (FTDI, USB Serial drivers).
• Understanding of Android USB Host/Accessory APIs.
• Working with low-level hardware protocols.
• Experience with cryptography (AES, encryption/decryption).
Why join us
• You will work on globally deployed, market-leading hotel access systems.
• You will contribute to both Visionline and Vostio, platforms trusted by the hospitality industry worldwide.
• You will be trusted with responsibility and technical ownership.
• You will be part of a stable, long-term product organization—not a feature factory.
• You will work with experienced engineers in a collaborative R&D culture.
