Senior Backend Developer

Senior Backend Developer – Identity Core

Build the backend behind digital access for hotels around the world.

Vostio is a cloud-native SaaS platform used by hotels globally to manage digital access, permissions and identity. As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll build and evolve the backend services, APIs and integrations behind these capabilities.

The role

You’ll join a small platform team where you’ll design, build and operate the services behind Identity Core. Working with Java, Kotlin or Go and AWS, you’ll shape APIs, microservices and cloud infrastructure while contributing to the architecture and technical direction of the platform.

The team works close to production and uses spec-driven, AI-assisted development across design, coding and review. You’ll have the autonomy to solve complex technical problems, influence how the team builds software and see the impact of your work in a product used by hotels around the world.

What you’ll do

• Design and build Java/Kotlin/Go microservices for access, permissions and identity management.

• Own features end to end, from spec through production and support.

• Design and evolve APIs and integrations across the hospitality ecosystem.

• Host and operate services on AWS, provisioned entirely through infrastructure as code.

• Contribute to architecture decisions and how the team builds software.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years building backend systems in Java, Kotlin, or Go.

• Hands-on experience hosting and operating microservices on AWS.

• Strong command of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).

• Experience with distributed, API-first, microservice architectures.

• Comfort working with AI-assisted development workflows, or eagerness to adopt them.

Nice to have: AWS Cognito, ECS, SNS/SQS; experience with SaaS platforms or access management/identity systems; frontend experience (React).

What we offer

We're passionate about providing opportunities and benefits that support your development and long-term success. Here's what we have to offer:

• A competitive salary and benefits package.

• Learning and career development opportunities, whether through online learning, technical training, or new challenges.
• Hybrid working and a collaborative engineering environment.
• The opportunity to contribute to innovative products used by customers around the world.
