  1. Position: Mechanical (Process) Engineer
  2. Report to: Process Engineering Senior Manager.
  3. Working time: 8:00 – 17:00 | Monday – Friday
  4. Location: Factory No.6, Lot CN6, Ba Thien Industrial Park, Ba Thien Industrial Zone, Binh Tuyen Commune, Phu Tho Province, Vietnam
  5. Job overview:
  • As Mechanical Engineer, you will be developing & deploying Manufacturing process including the Jig/Fixtures and equipment/technology for NPI projects with coordination from Engineering design team located at multiple R&D centres of ASSA ABLOY. Additionally, you will have to account for the day-to-day Root cause analysis of manufacturing failures, change management and VAVE activities in Mass production phase.

 

 

  1. Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead the creation of DFM (design of Manufacturing), Process flow & pFMEA documents for the assembly process for new product from mock-up samples & different NPI builds.
    • Review the mechanical designs of parts and provide DFMEA feedback for Mechanical designers of ASSA ABLOY’s design centres across the world.
    • Lead development of Jig/Fixture, Equipment, Process Technology for assigned projects to maximize efficiency and minimize cost following indirect purchase process.
    • Collaborate with design mechanical engineers, part suppliers for solving Manufacturing related technical issues on design, testing, supplier manufacturing issues.
    • Review part design with Suppliers and participate in supplier-DFM reviews and Part approval process during NPI & Mass production Copy tooling.
    • Responsible for finding engineering solution for overall product performance & manufacturing issues of assigned products.
    • Review, Validate & confirm the manufacturability & reliability of mechanical materials during alternate/localization supplier verification & copy tooling process.
    • Collaborating with Technical Project Managers for updating the status of tasks and preparations Updates.
    • Review the BOM of NPI builds and ensure its accuracy from NPI to MP and prepare the SOP for NPI following Lean basics.
    • Provide assembly training for trainers.
    • Review and approve the WI/SOP revisions from IE team.
    • Review, Validate and implement the ECNs related to Mechanical parts.
    • Participate in Value Analysis & Value Engineering [VAVE] workshops & coordinate its implementations.
    • Lead continuous improvement Projects including process automation.

 

  1. Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ Years’ experience of as mechanical engineer in assembly manufacturing industry.
  • Good skills in 3D design concept development, 2D development drawings (CAD/NX, Solid works etc)
  • Manufacturing knowledge of various mechanical manufacturing process: Mold/Tool development, ZN/AL diecasting, Plastic injection moulding, stamping, machining, plating, painting, assembly etc.
  • Strong understanding on manufacturing drawings & Tolerance standards & Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.
  • Knowledge in Engineering Change Order Process and version controls.
  • Good Knowledge on PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Lean practices.
  • excellent Mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Good Creativity and problem-solving ability.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills on English.
  • Vietnamese and Korean and/or Chinese language skill is an advantage.
