Reports to:        Manging Director

Location:          Carlisle

Purpose of the role

To support the Managing Director (MD) in shaping and delivering the Carlisle Brass strategic direction across sales, product, marketing, and supply chain. This role drives alignment between commercial performance, product strategy, and operational delivery, ensuring that short, medium, and long-term growth plans are achieved.

The role provides leadership across product and technical functions, maintains focus on trading performance, and acts as a key integrator across the business. This will be achieved by removing barriers, optimising decision making, and ensuring the delivery of key strategic initiatives, commercial targets, and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Performance

  • Support the MD in setting and executing business strategy across all core areas including sales, product, marketing, and supply chain.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with the MD and Finance Director (FD) to ensure progress against growth plans, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain business focus and rhythm on daily and weekly sales performance, proactively identifying and removing roadblocks to achieving targets.
  • Deputise for the MD and FD, in leading Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings and wider management forums when required.

Product Leadership & Development

  • Lead and manage the Product function, including ownership of product roadmaps, lifecycle strategy, and supplier/product rationalisation.
  • Drive Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE), product migrations, and major customer-led product development projects.
  • Take ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) targets, ensuring delivery in line with strategic objectives and keeping key stakeholders, including the Residential Technology Officer (RTO), informed.
  • Oversee product pricing strategy, conducting regular reviews to optimise sales performance and margins.

Technical & Compliance Oversight

  • Provide leadership and direction to Product and Technical Managers, ensuring all products remain compliant with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Lead implementation and ongoing adherence to the Code for Construction Product Information, maintaining accreditation across relevant product categories (including OEM and new build).

Supply Chain & Procurement Alignment

  • Align product strategy with central procurement objectives, supporting supply chain in delivering KPIs.
  • Evaluate procurement and supply chain metrics, constructively challenging where necessary to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Participate in quarterly procurement and supply chain review meetings, contributing to performance improvement and strategic alignment.

Regional & Group Collaboration (EMEIA)

  • Overseeing and delivering the EMEIA Architectural Hardware (AHW) Group strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Attend EMEIA AHW meetings, reviewing outcomes with the MD and driving implementation of agreed actions.

Skills, competencies, qualifications and personal experience

  • Strong strategic and commercial leadership experience within a B2B, manufacturing, or construction-related environment.
  • Intrinsic knowledge of Carlisle Brass supply chain, sales and product.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Carlisle Brass range of products.
  • Significant experience working with Far East suppliers, desirably based in the area.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver business strategy across multiple functions.
  • Deep understanding of product management, lifecycle planning, and technical compliance.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in pricing strategy, margin optimisation, and performance management.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, particularly across product and technical disciplines.
  • Ability to analyse complex data, identify risks and opportunities, and translate insight into actionable plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level internally and externally, including within matrix organisations.
  • Experience operating within or alongside procurement and supply chain functions, with the ability to challenge constructively and drive performance alignment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organised, resilient, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business degree essential with Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification preferred.
  • Experience working within an international or group structure (e.g. EMEIA) is highly desirable.
  • Relevant industry or product qualifications (e.g. Dip GAI) essential.
