Position Overview:
The Metal Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing various fabrication and assembly tasks related to the production of commercial roll-up door components. Depending on assignment, the technician may work on barrel fabrication or wall guide fabrication. Tasks may include cutting, welding, machining, punching, and assembling metal parts.---
Key Responsibilities (based on assignment):
- Cut steel tubing, profiles, sheet metal, or channels to specified dimensions.
- Perform MIG welding on structural components such as barrels or guide assemblies.
- Operate lathes, end mills, and presses to modify parts including shafts, tube, and guide structures.
- Punch holes and slots in metal components using mechanical or hydraulic equipment.
- Prepare and install torsion springs according to specifications.
- Assemble metal parts using hand and power tools.
- Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity.
- Document work performed and report any issues or deviations.
- Regularly lift and handle materials weighing over 40 lbs.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or machining.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with MIG welding and fabrication machinery is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different fabrication tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (depending on experience.)

El Técnico en Fabricación Metálica es responsable de realizar tareas de fabricación y ensamblaje de componentes metálicos utilizados en puertas enrollables comerciales. Dependiendo de la asignación, el técnico puede trabajar en la fabricación de barriles o en la fabricación de guías laterales. Las tareas específicas pueden incluir corte, soldadura, mecanizado, perforado y ensamblaje de piezas metálicas.
Responsabilidades del Puesto (según asignación):
- Cortar perfiles, tubos o canales de acero a medida.
- Realizar soldadura MIG en componentes estructurales.
- Operar maquinaria manual o CNC como tornos, fresadoras y prensas para modificar piezas como ejes, tubos o guías.
- Perforar orificios o ranuras en componentes metálicos.
- Preparar e instalar resortes de torsión según especificaciones técnicas.
- Ensamblar componentes metálicos utilizando herramientas manuales y eléctricas.
- Inspeccionar piezas fabricadas para verificar calidad, precisión y cumplimiento de especificaciones.
- Documentar el trabajo realizado y reportar cualquier desviación o problema detectado.
- Manipular materiales pesados (más de 40 libras) de forma regular.
- Cumplir con los procedimientos de seguridad y mantener el área de trabajo limpia y organizada.
Requisitos del Puesto:
- Educación preparatoria completa; se valora formación técnica o vocacional.
- Experiencia previa en fabricación metálica, soldadura o mecanizado (mínimo 1 año).
- Capacidad para interpretar planos y dibujos técnicos.
- Conocimientos en soldadura MIG y operación de maquinaria de fabricación.
- Atención al detalle, responsabilidad y compromiso con la seguridad. Habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar en equipo de manera efectiva.
