Career and Professional Development of Vojin Nikolic

One of these people is Vojin Nikolic, who has played a key role on the IT Business Application Support team since 2022. With his technical expertise, drive, and openness, he has advanced the further development of digital systems.

Vojin’s path to ASSA ABLOY began right after he received his bachelor’s degree. He found an interesting position through a recruitment agency that specialized in talented young people in the field of technology and IT. It was a perfect match for his experience in the industry. “It fit like a glove,” he said. And so he started his career at ASSA ABLOY, where he now rolls out new applications and optimizes existing ones in various projects. One particular focus of his work: the ERP system, which forms a central part of the IT landscape.

Two major ERP roll-outs within the company were his first challenges. Although there were intensive phases, Vojin looks at them fondly in retrospect: “You come into contact with very different departments and get to know the organization extremely well.” It is precisely this interdisciplinary collaboration that he enjoys the most.

Alongside his work, Vojin decided to deepen his knowledge in the field of data science and took three CAS courses. Rapid advances in AI were a major factor for this training. Theory didn’t remain theory for very long. With the introduction of the new Databricks data platform, he was able to directly apply what he had learned and actively participate in the project.

Of course, the combination of work, training, and private life also brought some challenges. As the deadlines piled up, things became intense. But Vojin found a balance: time with family and friends or sports helped him clear his mind and recharge his batteries.

He was supported in every respect: ASSA ABLOY covered part of the course costs, gave him additional vacation days for the training, and allowed him to apply his new knowledge directly in projects. “I am very grateful for this trust,” says Vojin.
