Linus Ljunghusen
Linus works as a Mechanical Engineer for Industrial Doors
1. Can you tell us about your journey from student to ASSA ABLOY employee?
I first applied for a summer internship at ASSA ABLOY because it seemed like a fun role that was close to what being a real engineer would mean. After that summer lived up to my expectations, I was offered the chance to do some extra work
that would fit in nicely with my studies that autumn.
At this point, I had seen how well ASSA ABLOY takes care of students and how they work with previous master’s thesis works, so they became a natural choice for my own master's thesis. Finally, when an open position at the department I worked at presented itself, I applied immediately. I could not imagine a position with a larger variety of fun tasks, or one that would give me better opportunities to grow. Now I am two months into my full-time employment, and I regret nothing.
2. What did you study, and what is your role today?
I studied mechanical engineering with a focus on technical design at Lunds Tekniska
Högskola, and now my title is Mechanical Engineer. So far, my work has involved
designing, CADing, ordering, assembling, and testing a rig for testing door parts.
3. What would you tell students who are thinking about applying for a position
with us?
Go for it! On top of all the ordinary things done very well, you will most likely find a
great group of fellow students who will guarantee you a good time at ASSA ABLOY.
