RTLS Business Unit

Our RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) platform processes and contextualizes large volumes of real-time location data, enabling industrial customers to gain actionable insights into operations, safety, and efficiency.

You will be working on a system that combines backend services, messaging systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure, used globally across manufacturing and logistics.

Essential Duties

  • Designing and delivering end-to-end features across backend and frontend.
  • Building and evolving backend services and APIs in a distributed architecture.
  • Working with data flows, messaging systems, and databases to ensure performance and scalability.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and production-ready code with long-term sustainability in mind.
  • Collaborating closely with QA, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliable features.
  • Participating in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
  • Supporting deployment and release processes in production environments.

Primary Duties

  • Solving complex technical challenges across backend, data, and system design.
  • Diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems.
  • Improving system performance, scalability, and reliability based on real-world usage.
  • Continuously refining services to ensure long-term maintainability and stability.
  • Sharing knowledge and contributing to engineering standards and documentation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience building backend services.
  • Strong proficiency in a backend language (Go, TypeScript, Java, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with APIs and HTTP-based services.
  • Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, etc.).
  • Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, NATS, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Git, CI/CD, and clean coding practices.
  • Basic experience with frontend technologies (JavaScript / TypeScript).
  • Willingness to work with Go on a daily basis.
  • Ability to communicate in Czech and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Go in production environments.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte).
  • Experience with cloud and on-prem systems.

What we can offer you

  • Opportunity to work on a real-world, production system with global impact.
  • Space to influence architecture, technical decisions, and system design.
  • A collaborative environment combining a small engineering team with the stability of HID Global.
  • Hybrid working model (Brno office + remote flexibility).
  • Long-term growth and exposure to modern cloud-native technologies.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and performance-based bonus.
