Field Quality Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Americas Residential, a division of ASSA ABLOY is seeking a highly motivated Field Quality Engineering Intern to work in our headquarter office in Lake Forest, CA. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of a global company and a market leader in faucets, fixtures and locks.

 

We are looking for a Field Quality Engineering Intern who is responsible for analyzing and validating field failures reported on electronic products and provide guidance on next steps for issue resolution. Will work closely with cross functional teams, as well as hand in hand with the Field Quality Leader to ensure customers are provided solutions.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Field Failure Analysis: Troubleshoot electronic systems and hardware to determine initial validation and failure mode (Level 1 analysis) and initial cause (Level 2 analysis) - working with Tech Support, Sales and Engineering counterparts.
  • Communicate with Sales/Tech Support - Perform technical conversations to help determine installation environment, troubleshooting steps, failure mode, etc.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required, including assisting with Field Test on electronic products.
  • Track all progress of field issues, building specific reports for all issues to help provide clarity back to customers, Tech Support, Sales Support or others.
  • Assist in the prioritization of reported field issues.
  • Involve in NPI and sustaining projects by providing field test insights.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other technical engineering fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven curiosity, initiative, and pragmatism to grow and learn.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates leadership & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with others positively.

 

 

Work Environment

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Hybrid work in our Lake Forest Headquarters office (must be onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
