Ameristar Perimeter Security, the world’s leading manufacturer of ornamental steel fence, gates, and perimeter security products, is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our fast-paced manufacturing team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This critical leadership role will report directly to the Production Manager and will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure maximum uptime, equipment reliability, and safety across multiple production lines.

You will play a key role in supporting high-volume steel fabrication, welding, powder coating, and assembly operations by minimizing downtime, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining a culture of proactive maintenance and safety excellence.

What you will be doing:

  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of 8–12 maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for a wide range of industrial equipment (CNC machines, robotic welders, powder coating lines, conveyor systems, hydraulic presses, forklifts, etc.).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective actions for equipment failures, using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Partner closely with Production Manager and other department leaders to prioritize work orders, minimize production interruptions, and meet aggressive OEE targets.
  • Manage the CMMS system (work order creation, parts inventory, PM scheduling, and reporting).
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, ANSI, and internal safety standards; lead safety audits and training for the maintenance team.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through improved spare parts management, vendor negotiations, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Develop and implement training programs to upskill technicians on new equipment, PLC troubleshooting, and advanced maintenance techniques.
  • Participate in capital equipment projects, including installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Prepare and present maintenance KPI reports (downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, etc.) to senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork within the maintenance department.

The skills and experience you need:

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (steel fabrication, welding, or metal processing strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or lead technician role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and welding equipment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software
  • Experience with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) is a plus.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a technical team in a high-pressure, 24/7 production environment.
