Human Resources Manager, Central Functions
About the role:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven HR Manager who will report directly to the Director Human Resource, Central Functions and Learning & Development of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Greater China & Southeast Asia, based in Shanghai, China. The mission is to translate business strategy into impactful people initiatives, foster a high-performing culture, and drive organizational effectiveness to support our ambitious growth in central functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing strategic counsel on organizational design, change management, and workforce planning.
- Partner with Centre of Excellence (CoE) to localize and implement division HR strategies, policies, and programs.
- Utilize HR analytics and reporting to provide insights that inform management decisions and track key people metrics.
Talent Management & Development
- Manage the end-to-end talent acquisition process, including critical management-level hires.
- Drive the annual talent review, succession planning, and career development initiatives to build a robust leadership pipeline.
- Lead the performance management cycle, coaching managers to cultivate a high-performance culture and address development needs.
HR Operations & Employee Experience
- Ensure smooth delivery of all HR operational services, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and positive employee experience.
- Proactively monitor legal and regulatory updates, ensuring 100% compliance and implementing necessary policy or process changes.
- Guide managers on complex employee relations matters with sound judgement and a balance of empathy and business acumen.
- Champion our company culture by leading engagement initiatives and transformation projects that enhance team collaboration and effectiveness.
Compensation & Budget Support
- Support the implementation of compensation & benefits strategies and participate in the annual salary review process.
- Provide crucial data and support for HR budgeting, annual audits, and compliance checks.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, 5 years and above of progressive HR Manager experience in fast paced, dynamic and high growth environment
- Experienced Human Resources professional, well-rounded understanding of HR functions and able to collaborate with subject matter experts in all HR disciplines
- Proven track record as a strategic business partner, adept at building trusted relationships with senior leaders and influencing without direct authority.
- Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of all HR disciplines: talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and HR compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and HR reporting/data analysis.
- High learning agility and resilience, with a proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed global organization.
- Experience in supporting central functions (e.g., Innovation, Product Development) is a plus (desired)
- Strong project management skills and experience leading organizational change initiatives (desired)
