ASSA ABLOY Sees Rising Demand for Wireless Access Solutions in Middle East

ASSA ABLOY is accelerating its growth across the Middle East, driven by increasing demand for advanced and integrated access solutions, according to Carlos Garcia, Sales Director for the region.

Based in Dubai, the company oversees operations across the GCC, Levant, and Egypt, serving sectors ranging from government and infrastructure to hospitality and residential developments.

Garcia noted that government entities are currently leading the adoption of advanced access control systems, driven by stricter security requirements and the need to protect critical infrastructure. At the same time, technologies such as biometric access and mobile credentials are gaining traction for their ability to combine security with convenience and sustainability.

“One of the strongest trends we’re seeing is the shift toward contactless and seamless access experiences,” Garcia said. 

While global markets are rapidly transitioning to wireless access control, adoption in the Middle East is progressing more gradually. Wired systems still dominate large residential projects, but sectors like hospitality are moving faster toward wireless solutions due to their flexibility and speed of deployment.

Among the company’s key offerings in the region are its SMARTair and Aperio wireless locking solutions, which are widely used for their ease of integration and scalability.

ASSA ABLOY has also contributed to major projects such as NEOM staff accommodation, where wireless access systems were integrated with BIM workflows to deliver efficiency at scale.

Looking ahead, ASSA ABLOY plans to expand further in high-growth sectors including data centers, healthcare, and residential developments, supported by investments in cybersecurity, mobile access technologies, and high-security door manufacturing.
