This Earth Day, Our Middle East Team Takes Action for a Greener Future

Earth Day 2026

This Earth Day, we reflected on what it truly means to secure the future, and took steps to nurture it.

Our ASSA ABLOY team in the Middle East came together for a tree plantation activity, reinforcing our belief that sustainability is driven by everyday actions. As a global leader in secure access solutions, we are committed not only to protecting people, buildings, and assets, but also to contributing responsibly to the environment we all share. Because when we protect what matters today, we help create safer, greener spaces for generations to come.

Earth Day is a reminder to step back and think about the future we’re helping shape - not just as individuals, but as an organization. It’s a moment to reflect on how everyday choices, innovation, and long-term thinking can make a real difference for the planet.

At ASSA ABLOY, sustainability is closely tied to what we do every day. As a global leader in access solutions, our role goes beyond securing doors and buildings. It’s also about being mindful of how our products are designed, how they’re made, and how they contribute to a more responsible way of living and working.

This commitment is backed by clear, measurable action. As part of our sustainability program to 2030, ASSA ABLOY has set science-based targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 50%, and Scope 3 emissions by 28% compared to 2019 levels. These goals reflect our responsibility not only within our own operations, but across our broader value chain - from sourcing and manufacturing to how our solutions are used.

Access solutions are part of daily life - in homes, offices, hospitals, schools, and public spaces. Because of that, the way they’re built matters. That’s why we focus on creating durable, reliable products designed to last, while continuing to invest in smarter, more efficient access technologies. By 2030, 80% of our revenue will be covered by product sustainability processes aligned with Scope 3 emission reduction targets, supporting more sustainable choices throughout the product lifecycle.

Digital and connected solutions also play a key role. They help reduce material use, support better building management, and contribute to lower environmental impact. Alongside this, we’re working towards a 30% reduction in energy, water, and waste intensity, reflecting our focus on smarter operations and resource efficiency across the business.

Sustainability also means taking responsibility for how and where our products are made. That’s why we continue to strengthen responsible operations and sourcing, with a target for 95% of our sites to be ISO 14001 certified, and 95% of supplier spend covered by sustainability audits and our Code of Conduct for Business Partners.

Looking ahead, as buildings and cities become smarter and more connected, secure access solutions will play an even greater role in supporting efficiency, safety, and sustainability. By combining innovation with responsible design, ASSA ABLOY aims to help customers meet today’s security needs while preparing for tomorrow.

Earth Day serves as a reminder that sustainability is a shared responsibility - one that continues every day. At ASSA ABLOY, we remain committed to making thoughtful choices, driving innovation responsibly, and opening doors to safer, smarter, and more sustainable solutions.
