Energy efficiency is now a priority for both residential and commercial buildings. Proper door closure not only affects security, but also contributes significantly to reducing energy consumption and improving indoor comfort.

Regulations and future challenges

In the United Kingdom, new regulations impose stricter standards for the energy efficiency of commercial properties. By 2030, over 80% of buildings could be unrentable if they do not achieve an EPC rating of A or B.

Currently, 83% of properties in major cities have a C rating or lower, with 53% in class D or worse. This highlights the urgency of reducing energy loss, including that caused by doors left open.
