Trust the original. Benefit from our experience

Electric strikes, which were originally invented and patented by the ASSA ABLOY brand effeff in 1947, are the essential link between mechanical locks and modern access control systems.

Unlike electronic locks, electric strikes do not replace the mechanical lock; they enhance it. With an electric strike, a door can be locked or unlocked electronically by pressing a button, eliminating the need to go to the door in person.

Reliable, compact and powerful, effeff electric strikes enable remote access and integrate seamlessly with intercoms and digital systems. They can also be fitted to existing doors without the need for visible modifications. We deliver tailored solutions to customers across the globe.

Built to fit. Engineered to excel

effeff electric strikes are installed in millions of doors worldwide, in both new and existing buildings, and have delivered reliable performance for decades.

We offer tailored electric strike solutions for virtually every application – from everyday commercial doors to highly specialized, safety-critical environments. Whether you’re installing a strike in a high-traffic entrance or an ATEX-certified area, you’ll find the perfect match in our portfolio.

With over 10,000 electric strike and latch plate combinations, we offer solutions for nearly every door scenario, installation requirement, and access control logic.

And if your use case goes beyond the standard, we’ll build it. Our engineering team develops customized solutions to meet unique technical, architectural or regulatory needs.

Trusted security. Long lifecycle and durability

From everyday access to extreme environments – we have the strike that fits. Production is DIN-certified, TÜV-audited, and fully aligned with European and international standards.

effeff strikes are tested to resist up to 9,000 N of holding force, depending on the model. All systems meet EN 14846 and, where applicable, VdS certification. From office buildings to high-security areas, they provide verified protection and mechanical integrity.

Each strike is tested for 200,000 to 500,000 cycles in our own test lab, ensuring years of dependable use. Features like sealed contacts, corrosion-resistant materials, and integrated suppression diodes provide exceptional performance even in harsh or high-frequency environments.

Easy installation. Universal fit

effeff electric strikes are built for smooth integration with minimal effort – no door leaf wiring, no cable loop needed. The entire system is wired inside the frame for a clean and time-saving installation.

Thanks to small dimensions, symmetrical design (DIN left/right and horizontal), and AC/DC support (10–24 V), they fit almost any door configuration without custom adaptation.

The radius keeper minimizes the latch opening cut-out; with the ProFix® 2 version, the cut-out is no longer needed at all – resulting in faster mounting and a cleaner aesthetic.

Post-installation alignment is just as simple: the integrated FaFix® mechanism allows adjustment of the latch keeper by up to 3 mm in 1 mm increments – for perfect alignment with the latch bolt every time.

Certified sustainability. Low energy consumption

All effeff electric strikes are backed by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – providing verified data on environmental impact across the entire product life cycle. This supports sustainable building certification systems like LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB.

effeff electric strikes are also energy-efficient by design – especially the fail-locked (energize-to-open) models, which only consume power for a short moment during unlocking. Unlike magnetic locks or motorized systems, these strikes do not require continuous current, making them highly efficient in day-to-day operation.

For applications using fail-unlocked strikes (e.g. escape routes), continuous current is required – but even here, effeff models are optimized for low consumption and thermal stability.

Simple access. Smart integration

Electric strikes allow doors to be locked and unlocked remotely at the press of a button – no need to go to the door. As the interface between mechanical locks and modern access systems, they offer a smart and cost-effective way to electrify doors.

effeff strikes are ideal for retrofits and new builds alike. They enable convenient access control, door status monitoring, and seamless integration into management systems.
