Challenge::

The Ulm Day Clinic is part of the business Söflingen Day Clinic, where the entire spectrum of anesthesia and operations has been carried out since 1998: The approximately 8,000 operations are carried out by more than 30 inpatient physicians from 13 specialties. A qualified and competent team of a wide range of specialists is available for all treatments.

In front of the operating area, a door slammed very loudly when closing. This led to problems at reception and especially during operations. The medical team felt the vibrations, especially during very sensitive eye surgeries.

Solution:

The Ulm Day Clinic has chosen the Close-Motion® door closers from ASSA ABLOY, which operate almost silently. The system quickly closes the door until there is merely a small gap. At this point the mechanism smoothly absorbs the door’s movement before it slowly and securely closes the door. All you can hear is a subtle click. Close-Motion® works independently of any wind pressure, draught or suction effects of the air. This means that operations can be carried out calmly again and conversations and telephone calls with patients at reception are no longer disturbed.

Close-Motion® technology combines security, barrier-free access and convenience in a single component that is fully integrated into the extended door closer housing. This eliminates the need to install an additional component and preserves the appearance of the doors.

ASSA ABLOY has placed particular importance on easy installation and practical adjustment options. The mounting plate is mounted invisibly, the height-adjustable slide rail and axle ensure easy installation. Opening damping and opening speed as well as closing force can be continuously adjusted in just a few simple steps. Specific conditions on-site, such as temperature fluctuations, do not require any unscheduled maintenance work and the door closer does not need to be readjusted to work correctly.
