Job Summary
As the Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for supporting a variety of HR and Environmental and Health & Safety administrative duties. You’ll facilitate daily HR functions related to recruitment, onboarding, training administration, HRIS data entry, and other HR initiatives. This role will also be responsible for coordinating our health & safety program, training, and documentation.
This position is an onsite role, located in North York and Vaughan. You will be expected to be onsite at the North York facility 80% of the time and 20% of the time at the Vaughan location. This role will be an 18-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR support to employees, responding to inquiries regarding human resources policies, procedures, and programs
- Follow-up, manage and create employment related documentation and ensure corresponding updates are accurately reflected with payroll
- Manage the time and attendance system for hourly employees
- Support recruiting efforts with pre-screen interviews, background checks, onboarding and documentation
- Administer the Health & Safety program, including health & safety policy implementation, legislative requirements, training, and investigations
- Coordinate wellness initiatives and employee events
- Perform other duties as required
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary Education in HR or related discipline
- A minimum of 1 year of HR experience
- Health and Safety experience within an industrial environment
Key Competencies
- Good functional understanding of core HR business terminology, processes and practices
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, in order to build strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and other MS applications
- Proven aptitude for detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines including ability to plan and manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time

The estimated expected compensation range for this role is $55,000 - $60,000 per year.
