Orion by VingCard Elsafe top energy management innovation for hospitality
Orion by VingCard Elsafe was recently recognized as a top green innovation for 2010 and its Integrated Room Control Dashboard feature is revolutionizing energy management for the hospitality industry.
Orion by VingCard Elsafe received the prestigious Editor’s Choice Award during the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS) in New York in November – a recognition of its ability to help hoteliers save energy, enhance guest comfort and promote their green initiatives.
Chosen from more than 100 new product submissions, Orion manages guestroom temperatures via an online local network and/or web-based server.
And as an integral part of the solution, the Integrated Room Control Dashboard feature, which has now been released, received a positive response and reviews for its innovation and advanced capabilities.
User-friendly and interactive, the software-based dashboard can be integrated into in-room electronic systems allowing hotel properties to manage subsystems remotely over the hotel LAN or web-based connection.
The solution automatically controls temperature settings as guests travel in and out of their rooms and can be integrated with a hotel’s wireless online locks, safes, lights and other networked subsystems, providing operators with unprecedented reporting, tracking, status, control and data access.

Editors from leading hospitality trade publications reviewed the submissions and chose the winners based on innovative product design, how a product answers a particular industry need, creative use of material or construction, and development or use of a new technology.
