Linda thrives at HID Global

Linda Hong-Lee and her team at HID Global in California cultivate a partnership with their suppliers and maintain the relationship by being fair – having a reliable and trusted supplier is the key to the success of the supply chain.

Linda joined HID as a buyer back in 1997. It was her first job and she has grown with the company, being appointed senior buyer in 1998, purchasing manager in 2000 and senior purchasing manager in 2006.

“I am the regional supply chain manager for Americas,” Linda says. “I make sure we meet our daily commitments to our customers, improve metric measurements and share best practices where possible.”

Linda is excited by the process of being involved with the product from its infancy to maturity and delivery to customers. She finds it interesting to be able to interact with various functional groups internally and suppliers externally. 

In 2006, Linda received the Achiever Award due to accomplishing the consignment set up with key suppliers which resulted in considerable inventory dollar reduction and improvement in inventory turns.

“I’ve always been very proud of my team,” Linda says. “It is a team effort from top to bottom. Everyone helps each other out and information and support are voluntarily shared with same ultimate goal – providing the utmost service to our customers.”
