eCLIQ brings the benefits of barrier-free digital access to everyone

Challenge

The housing association WBG "Glück Auf" Gera eG has properties in almost every residential area of Gera – the portfolio comprises almost 4,000 apartments. With their newest WeidenCarré project, they implemented a sustainable living concept by combining homes for young people, families and senior citizens at a single, multi-generational location. Four residential buildings with 2- to 4-room apartments are accompanied on the 7,000 m² property by a park and spaces for cars. Two buildings also have barrier-free apartments for senior assisted-living, with separate access and staircase as well as a second lift.

A locking solution was required for the new project. Its aim: to be as convenient, flexible and secure as possible for all tenants, external service providers and administrators.

Solution

WBG "Glück Auf" Gera chose eCLIQ, part of a suite of Digital Access Solutions from ASSA ABLOY, for all four new buildings at WeidenCarré. This reliable programmable-key digital access solution now secures the building entrances, apartment doors, and doors to the garden, technical rooms and other building areas. An eCLIQ device can equip almost any door thanks to the modular set-up of the locking cylinders and the availability of more than 60 different cylinder types, for doors and many other openings including cabinets, gates, machines and more. 

In addition to block tenants, facility managers, energy suppliers and technicians from external companies carry their own individual key conveniently programmed with the necessary authorisations. Daycare staff for the assisted-living homes also receive temporary access via their eCLIQ keys, only as required.

The entire system is managed from anywhere with secure internet access via CLIQ Web Manager admin software. It is straightforward for site managers to assign locking authorisations or block lost keys with just a few clicks. 

And CLIQ Web Manager is easily scalable: the housing association can extend their locking system to more buildings when necessary.
