Lock Assembler
Job Function:
Layout parts and assemblies from production schedules, as well as assemble and pack alf t^pes of cylindrical locks, unit locks, cylindrical lock components, sub-assemblies and trim.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Plan layout of cylindrical lock and unit lock parts and/or assemblies from production schedules and knowledge of stock on hand. Select and layout from orders or folios. Maintain schedule dates by expediting production orders through various departments and operations for processing on promised dates.
2. Job requires knowledge of departmental procedures, stock on hand and capacity of various assembly locations and machines. Report all shortages to the Team Leader.
3. Use data entry equipment and/or barcode scanner in the performance of the job. Apply special labels or markings as necessary.
4. Transport materials within the department and to and from various departments and workstations.
5. Visually inspect components, trim sub-assemblies and component locks for proper quality of finish and test for function during and after assembly. Segregate rejects and notify Team Leader.
6. Job requires the use of a variety of hand tools.
7. Lubricate assemblies and sub-assemblies as necessary. Place completed work in appropriate containers as directed.
8. Pack all types of cylindrical locks, unit locks and/or parts. Read tickets for instructions and quantities. Check goods against tickets, orders or folios for type and style. Determine size of boxes as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Be knowledgeable of, and conform to, existing plant safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Requires a high school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
