Security door closer is product of the year
ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik was delighted to receive an award from the specialist magazine Schloss- und Beschlagmarkt once again this year. The security door closer® with integrated escape door locking system for double-leaf door systems was awarded Product of the Year 2023 in the “Security Technology and Access Control” category. The system enables functional doors with an escape route locking system to be retrofitted or installed. No structural changes to the door are necessary when retrofitting existing functional doors.
With the “Product of the Year 2023” award, the trade magazine honours outstanding products that impress in various categories with their innovation, utility and design, digitalisation and supporting benefits for retail. The award ceremony took place at the BAU 2023 trade fair in Munich with ASSA ABLOY CEO Nico Delvaux. Stefan Fischbach, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH and SVP & Head of Central Europe, is proud of the award: "I am particularly pleased that the expert jury has presented one of our product innovations with 1st place for the second time in a row. The security door closer® with integrated escape door strike, which has also been available for double-leaf functional doors since November 2022, was awarded the prize in the “Security Technology and Access Control” category. It can be used for retrofitting an escape route locking system on functional doors. There is no need to wire the door leaf. Instead, the existing drill holes for door closers in accordance with DIN EN 1154 (Supplement 1:2003-11) are used. The door leaf itself remains technically unchanged with no drilling, milling, filing or grinding.
