Innovative door solutions at the Fensterbau Frontale
From 19 to 22 March 2024, FENSTERBAU FRONTALE, the world's leading trade fair for window, door and façade construction, will once again open its doors at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Architects, planners, fabricators and the dealers can expect selected highlights at the booth of ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH (Hall 4, booth 123), such as the latest generation of locks with flip latch technology. Trade fair visitors will also see solutions of ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG's Planet brand. The company will be showcasing its finger protection systems and various solutions for barrier-free drop-down seals, including a new release module for rebated pivot doors.
Secure, quiet, barrier-free: New locks with flip latch technology
Reconciling tightness, sound insulation and burglary protection with accessibility requirements is a major challenge in the door sector. High pressure forces are essential for improved sound insulation, while many locking points increase security. However, with conventional systems, both are at the expense of ease of use and ease of movement. The new generation of locks called Solution Locks shows that the combination of high concealed security, impressive noise reduction and ease of use is not an irreconcilable contradiction. The flip latch technology used ensures compliance with the maximum operating forces in accordance with EN179/EN1125 despite the large number of locking points. Their number could even be increased - without any negative consequences for ease of use. Thus the smooth operation of the lever handle/cylinder is maintained even when doors are exposed to high thermal loads or large pressure differences.
Planet shows solutions for finger protection and drop-down seals
Retrofitting a finger protection can prevent serious accidents and injuries. ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG has extended the multi-certified Planet finger protection programme with the new FSA 8800 [S] hinge-side cover profile. The solution is impressively easy to install and requires only a few components. This means that the system can be installed in no time at all.
The demand for barrier-free solutions in buildings is constantly increasing. With the Planet X3 drop-down seal, a completely barrier-free zero threshold is available for single-leaf house and balcony doors made of timber, metal or PVC-U. The one-sided release of the drop-down seal works simultaneously via three sealing movements, all of which can be adjusted separately. For sliding doors, ASSA ABLOY also offers a solution suitable for barrier-free access with the Planet SN drop-down seal.
Pivot doors are becoming increasingly popular as a design element among architects, designers and homeowners. With the Planet Pivot module designed for rebated doors, ASSA ABLOY now presents a release device which, in combination with the proven Planet US drop-down seal, offers particularly efficient protection against noise, smoke, fire and heat loss. The newly designed rotating activator of the release module enables better force transmission when opening and closing and installation is possible without additional processing in the frame.
