ePED panic touch bar honoured at the Design Plus Award 2022

The award-winning innovative ePED panic touch bar elegantly combines panic bar and escape door control terminal in a single functional unit.

The Design Plus Award powered by Light + Building is a seal of quality for products that stand for sustainability, innovative design and energy-efficient technology. This year, the highly qualified jury of experts evaluated 113 products from 73 submitting companies. In addition to the overall concept, design and innovative content, the technical quality as well as the integration capability were the main decision-making criteria. "I am personally very pleased that we were once again able to convince a jury of experts with our ePED technology. It confirms our high standards for the reliability and future-oriented durability of our products as well as their easy operation and appealing, functional design," explains Ulrich Rotenhagen, Product Manager Escape Route Technology at ASSA ABLOY, proudly.

Complete electrically controlled escape door system in one element

The design-oriented ePED panic touch bar combines panic bar and escape door control terminal in one functional unit. A separate terminal on the wall is no longer necessary, which minimises the wiring effort. The escape door system is controlled via the integrated terminal with touch display. It replaces four modules: Escape route icon, emergency button, key switch and time delay display. If the ePED touch bar is combined with a suitable lock, the burglary protection can also be increased. The ePED touch bar can be easily integrated into the door technology via the Hi-O-Bus technology. It is suitable for security-sensitive areas such as airports as well as for buildings with a high number of visitors such as stadiums or museums.

The award-winning products will be presented at Light + Building Autumn Edition 2022 in Hall 3 of Messe Frankfurt for the entire duration of the fair.
