Challenge

committed to providing affordable housing and currently manages around 9,000 apartments. In addition to housing, its living complexes include the development of social facilities such as daycare centres and local shopping hubs. The "Regensburger Viertel" is one of the company’s largest construction projects and is located on the southeastern outskirts of Nuremberg. This colourful neighbourhood combines subsidised and privately financed rental apartments with units for social and commercial use. The complex includes a childcare facility, a family centre, retail, office and commercial spaces, as well as an underground garage and a multi-story car park. This extensive residential and commercial project required a modern locking system that ensures both flexibility and security.

Solution

As the core component of the security technology, an electronic eCLIQ locking system from the IKON brand was installed at general access points such as entrance doors and car park doors. The system enables the simple handling and management of access rights: The CLIQ® Local Manager software allows the facility manager to quickly adjust or revoke access authorisations. This allows access rights

to be immediately deactivated in the event of a lost key or a change of user, thereby minimizing the security risk. The power supply and communication with the cylinder are provided via keys and programming keys only. In addition to its compact design, the electronic locking system is characterised by robust, durable and secure components. For example, the locking cylinders have no protruding elements and therefore no attack surfaces for potential vandalism.
