Challenge:
The Mitsubishi Electric HALLE can look back on an impressive history since its opening in 1971: Initially opened as PHILIPSHALLE, it has developed over five decades into one of the most versatile venues in Germany. With 3,300 square metres of interior space, telescopic main and side grandstands and a flexible curtain divider system, it meets the highest demands for a modern multifunctional hall. Depending on the setup, the venue can accommodate up to 7,500 visitors for concerts, TV productions, sports events, trade fairs or business events.
This presents a particular challenge for the operator D.LIVE: An event venue with constantly changing requirements, numerous service providers, customers and guests needs an access solution that is both secure and highly flexible. The previous mechanical master key system reached its limits due to recurring key losses, a lack of convenience and the high administrative effort.
Solution:
Based on the very positive experiences at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA, D.LIVE chose the electronic eCLIQ master key system from the IKON brand as a central element of the new security architecture. CLIQ® technology meets all the requirements of a modern, digital access solution and also offers a very high level of flexibility in daily operations.
The entire hall was completely converted to eCLIQ. A total of almost 400 locking cylinders were installed – including double, half and knob cylinders as well as padlocks. The system is supplemented by 60 Connect keys, which reliably take over energy and data communication. A separate battery change on the cylinder is thus completely omitted. For employees, this means less effort, greater security and uncomplicated handling. A significant advantage is also the use of the CLIQ® Web Manager. The cloud-based management software enables location-independent control of all access authorisations and clear and intuitive operation. Adjustments to changing service providers or event teams can also be made rapidly. Employees can conveniently load their personal authorisation profiles onto their keys via existing wall terminals – a significant benefit in terms of flexibility and process security, especially in the case of frequently changing requirements in event operations.
