ATEX strikes: work well when things get hot!
ATEX electric strikes comply with the requirements of the ATEX directive and can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
In potentially explosive atmospheres, all components must be subjected to an ignition hazard assessment. In the case of electrical devices, a type test must be carried out: no sparking or heating may occur during mechanical and electrical processes which could lead to an ignition.
The ATEX electric strikes comply with the European product protection guideline ATEX 2014/34/EU (ATmosphères EXplosibles), have the EX logo and are approved for the designated ATEX protection zones. The electric strikes are part of ATEX equipment group II and are suitable for use in areas with explosive gas or dust atmospheres. It is designed for Zones 1 or 2 or 21 or 22 with an ignition energy of more than 3 mJ. This allows zones of the low and medium risk levels to be covered.
Electric strikes for EX protection impress with low installation effort and low costs. Combined with the model EX1003 power supply unit, this system solution offers security where it is particularly important.
Approvals:
- Electric strikes: II 2G Ex ib IIB T4 Gb (gas atmosphere), II 2D Ex ib IIIC T95°C Db (dust atmosphere), TPS 21 ATEX 062486 0017 X (EU type test certificate)
Usability for fire doors is proven by the certificate of durability 0432-CPR-00007
- Pneumatic strikes: II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb X (Gas-Atmosphäre), II 2D Ex h IIIC T80 °C Db X (Staub-Atmosphäre) - EX9A 16 06 62486 015 (EX118P), EX9A 16 06 62486 014 (EX138P)
How they work:
The electric strike fulfils the requirements for ignition protection type intrinsic safety according to EN 60079-11. The coil of the electric strike and the monitoring contact form two independent intrinsically safe circuits. An associated intrinsically safe instrument (power supply and switching amplifier) is required for operation.
New: first ATEX electric strike with monitoring
Reliable monitoring and integration into building control
- First ATEX electric strike with monitoring contact
- Safe monitoring of the door
- Integration into building control
- Suitable for fire doors in accordance with EN 14846
Compact dimensions, safe design
- Much more compact than previous ATEX electric strikes
- Flexible use
- Meets the requirements for ignition protection type intrinsic safety according to EN 60079-11
- Special moulded connection cable to external power supply
Electricity supply via intrinsically safe power supply
- EX-i electricity supply (14.8 volts) from R. Stahl
- Installation outside potentially explosive area
- In the event of an error, voltage is kept low in order to avoid hazards
- Connection cable directly from the electric strike to the power supply unit without interface
- Cable length of 10 or optionally 25 metres
- Connection of monitoring contact via intrinsically safe switching amplifier from R. Stahl
Versions
Electrically locked
ATEX electric strikes are with monitoring contact as standard and are approved for fire doors.
