" Flame-retardant technology that helps prevent the spread of fire, heat-resistant performance engineered for temperatures up to 120°C, and a new choice for creating safer industrial workplaces. "
In industrial facilities, safety is not an option, but a necessity. Particularly in environments where fire hazards exist, such as logistics centers, manufacturing plants, battery factories, and chemical facilities, higher safety standards are required for every piece of equipment.
To meet these demands, KAD-ASSA ABLOY has introduced its new Speed Door equipped with a 2T Flame-Retardant PETEX Curtain.
While conventional speed doors typically use standard curtain materials that can deteriorate rapidly under high-temperature conditions, the PETEX flame-retardant curtain offers enhanced heat resistance and flame-retardant performance, helping to improve safety in industrial environments.
When exposed to flames, conventional curtain materials may allow combustion to spread quickly. In contrast, the PETEX flame-retardant curtain is designed to resist continued combustion once the ignition source has been removed.
This flame-retardant characteristic may help delay the spread of fire during an emergency.
By reducing the potential for fire propagation and contributing to a safer working environment, PETEX is gaining attention across a wide range of industrial applications.
Industrial facilities often operate high-temperature equipment and processes continuously.
While standard speed door curtains may become deformed or damaged in elevated temperatures, the PETEX 2T flame-retardant curtain has been designed with operating environments of up to 120°C in mind and offers improved heat resistance compared to conventional curtain materials.
This enables stable door operation in high-temperature process areas and heat-intensive work environments while also supporting long-term durability.
In addition, conventional PVC curtains can begin to soften or melt at temperatures around 60-70°C, potentially allowing smoke generated during a fire to spread more easily. With its higher heat resistance of up to 120°C, PETEX may help limit smoke propagation during the early stages of a fire.
Smoke inhalation is widely recognized as a major cause of fire-related injuries and fatalities. By maintaining its integrity under higher temperatures, PETEX can contribute to improved safety during the initial phase of a fire.
The value of the PETEX flame-retardant curtain extends beyond achieving a flame-retardant rating. Its enhanced heat resistance can be a critical factor in minimizing smoke spread during the early stages of a fire.
Today, industrial operations are placing increasing emphasis not only on productivity but also on fire prevention and workplace safety.
KAD-ASSA ABLOY's Speed Door with the 2T Flame-Retardant PETEX Curtain combines high-speed operation with enhanced flame-retardant and heat-resistant performance, offering a new solution for industrial door applications.
KAD-ASSA ABLOY will continue to deliver industrial door automation solutions that enhance both safety and productivity, providing optimal value for a wide range of customer operating environments.
