Robust devices and easy management drive the switch to eCLIQ smart key access
“The eCLIQ solution fulfils our requirements perfectly and supports us in managing access authorizations efficiently and in a future-proof way,” says Michael Wagner from Ratiodata SE.
Challenge
With 1,500 employees, Ratiodata is one of Germany’s leading system houses and service providers for banking technology and document digitization. In addition to the financial services industry, the company mainly serves other organizations with stringent regulatory requirements.
A nationwide network of service technicians and high-performance competence centres provide reliable services for IT and self-service infrastructures. As a multi-vendor service provider, Ratiodata is the market leader for manufacturer-independent services in the self-service banking sector. The company is also one of the leading providers in the areas of scanning and document services. In order to achieve their strategic growth potential, they needed a significant expansion of logistics and repair capacities. A new, modern building was constructed at their Koblenz site.
Key requirements
- Alternative to a mechanical master-key system which had been in use at a previous location
- Significant security and management flexibility benefits from switching to electronic access control
- A range of devices to secure diverse areas including the logistics and repair areas, offices, and even a casino
Solution
The company opted for eCLIQ, the fully electronic smart key access solution from ASSA ABLOY. Security partner Alfred Horn GmbH & Co. KG was commissioned with the planning, delivery, and installation of the new digital system. The eCLIQ solution impressed Ratiodata for its compact, distinctive device design and particularly robust, durable components. Cylinders in the eCLIQ range meet the highest VdS requirement and operate maintenance-free. The power supply to each one is conveniently provided by a standard battery inside every user key; typical battery life for standard eCLIQ keys is 10 years. No wiring or batteries are needed at the access points, which simplifies installation.
However, an even more decisive factor was the high level of management flexibility which this smart key system offers. Access authorizations can be adjusted quickly and easily with eCLIQ; any lost or misplaced keys may be deactivated immediately. Control takes place via the user-friendly CLIQ Web Manager, a scalable software solution which integrates easily into existing business processes.
