effeff Electric Strikes
A high-quality universal solution for reliable closing and convenient opening.
Trust the original. Benefit from our experience.
Electric strikes, invented and patented by the ASSA ABLOY brand effeff in 1947, are a vital link between mechanical locks and modern access control systems.
Unlike electronic locks, electric strikes do not replace the mechanical lock – they complement it. They make it possible to lock or release a door electronically at the push of a button, without having to physically go to the door.
Reliable, compact, and powerful, effeff electric strikes can be remotely controlled and easily integrated with intercom systems and digital access solutions. They can also be installed on existing doors without significant modifications. We provide tailored solutions for customers around the world.
Built to fit. Engineered to exceed expectations.
effeff electric strikes are installed in millions of doors worldwide and have been delivering reliable performance for decades in both new and existing buildings.
We offer solutions for virtually every application, from everyday commercial premises to demanding, security-critical environments. Whether it is a high-traffic entrance or an area requiring ATEX certification, you will find the right solution in our portfolio.
With more than 10,000 electric strike variants and kit combinations, our range covers virtually all door types, installation requirements, and access control scenarios.
And when standard solutions are not enough, we create one. Our engineering team is ready to develop bespoke solutions that meet even the most specific technical, architectural, or regulatory requirements.
Reliable security. Engineered for long-lasting performance.
From everyday access control to extreme environments, we have an electric strike for every application. Our manufacturing processes are DIN-certified, TÜV-audited, and fully compliant with European and international standards.
Depending on the model, effeff electric strikes are tested to withstand holding forces of up to 9,000 N. All systems comply with EN 14846 and, where required, are also available with VdS certification. From office buildings to high-security facilities, they provide controlled protection and outstanding mechanical resistance.
Every electric strike undergoes 200,000 to 500,000 operating cycles in our test laboratory, ensuring years of reliable performance. Sealed, corrosion-resistant materials and integrated suppressor diodes ensure dependable operation even in harsh environments or locations with high usage frequency.
Simple Installation. Universal compatibility
effeff electric strikes are designed for seamless integration with minimal installation effort. There is no need to route wiring through the door leaf, and no cable loop is required. All system wiring remains within the door frame, ensuring a clean and time-efficient installation process.
Thanks to their compact dimensions, symmetrical design (DIN left/right and horizontal installation), and AC/DC compatibility from 10–24 V, they can be fitted to virtually any door configuration without the need for special adaptations.
The rounded strike keep reduces the size of the latch cut-out. With the ProFix® 2 version, no cut-out is required at all, enabling faster installation and a cleaner finished appearance.
Post-installation adjustment is just as straightforward. The integrated FaFix® mechanism allows the keeper to be adjusted by up to 3 mm in 1 mm increments, ensuring precise alignment with the lock latch every time.
Certified sustainability. Energy-efficient performance.
All effeff electric strikes are supplied with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), providing verified data on the product’s environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle. This supports compliance with sustainable building certification schemes such as LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB.
effeff electric strikes are engineered for energy efficiency. This is particularly true for fail-locked models, which consume power only briefly during door release. Unlike magnetic locks or motorized locking systems, they do not require a continuous power supply, resulting in exceptionally low day-to-day energy consumption.
Applications that use fail-unlocked electric strikes, such as those installed on escape routes, require a continuous power supply. Even in these cases, effeff models are optimized for low energy consumption and stable operating temperatures.
Seamless access. Smart Integration.
Electric strikes enable doors to be locked and released remotely at the push of a button, eliminating the need to physically go to the door. Serving as the link between mechanical locking systems and modern access control solutions, electric strikes provide a smart and cost-effective way to electrify doors.
effeff electric strikes are ideal for both upgrading existing installations and integrating into new buildings. They offer convenient access control, door status monitoring, and seamless integration with building management and access control systems.
