Where locks cannot be installed or openings are automated, like gates and lifts, choose the SMARTair wall reader. For Update on Card management, your wall reader also doubles as a credential updater.

SMARTair wired wall readers with inbuilt RFID capability are suitable for automatic doors, turnstiles, fences, barriers and elevators. In fact, the wall reader filters access through any opening where a locking or blocking element is automated, including when an escutcheon, cylinder or lock cannot be installed.

When controlling access to an elevator or lift, a SMARTair wall reader interfaces with your elevator control panel, assigning access permissions individually by floor, if required. This ensures users only enter specific floors assigned to them. One SMARTair wall reader manages a lift with up to 40 floors.

A SMARTair wall reader also doubles as an updating point when your installation is managed via Update on Card. In this case, the wall updater connects directly to the controller. When presented with a credential, its access rights are updated and the information on the credential is exchanged automatically with SMARTair’s system management software.

The SMARTair wall reader device range includes a standard wall reader; wall reader with keypad for multi-factor authentication (PIN, PIN and card, card only); and a slimline version for narrow or aluminium profile doors.

The SMARTair wall reader incorporates a relay and a control unit, which manages both the reader and relay.
