Profile Summary

The External Footprint Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s public-facing digital assets across multiple geographic regions. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and recommending remediation strategies for vulnerabilities found in external websites, hosted services, and internet-exposed infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset, leveraging automated tools and explorative testing to continuously assess and improve the security posture of the company’s external footprint.

HID Global’s, Flagship R&D Center in Chennai hosts 300 employees in a 48000 square foot space dedicated to delivering innovative product development for customers and provide an excellent platform for scaling our operations in delivering secure access solutions.  Here we deliver cloud-based solutions, web and mobile application development.  The Chennai R&D Center is seen as the subject matter expert and talent pool on the latest cloud technologies, logical and physical access systems, data engineering including AI/ML, cryptographic key management systems, and other mobile-based smart card delivery systems.

Global Engineering Team is based in Chennai and one of the Business Unit Engineering team is based in Bangalore.
 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Continuously monitor and assess vulnerabilities in public-facing assets using scanning platforms and manual testing techniques.
  • Conduct explorative testing to uncover misconfigurations, exposure risks, and emerging threats across external services.
  • Analyze findings and develop prioritized, actionable remediation recommendations for IT and development teams.
  • Maintain visibility across multiple locations and business units, ensuring consistent coverage and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive timely resolution of identified risks and track remediation progress.
  • Chair recurring meetings focused on external threat and vulnerability management, providing strategic insights and updates.
  • Stay current with threat intelligence, zero-day vulnerabilities, and evolving attack vectors targeting internet-exposed systems.

 


Qualifications

Must demonstrate expert-level knowledge in vulnerability management and cybersecurity fundamentals.

  • Proven expertise in external vulnerability management, penetration testing, or security assessment of public-facing systems.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, DNS, SSL/TLS, cloud-hosted services, and internet infrastructure.
  • Experience with tools such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, Burp Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.) to enhance testing and reporting workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles and secure configuration of services across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to interpret CVEs, threat feeds, and security advisories to inform testing and remediation strategies.

 

Education Qualification or/ Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on external threat and vulnerability management.
  • Hands-on experience conducting security assessments of websites, APIs, and hosted services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams and geographies to align remediation efforts.
