EL566 - Multipoint controlled handle locks
The EL566 high-security mortise electric locks are designed for installation on internal solid wooden doors. They are used in combination with an access control system. They have 3 locking points (central, lower and upper) connected by a single forend, which can be flat or U-shaped.
They are recommended for doors subject to medium user traffic.
The central mechanism is equipped with a symmetrical latch and an automatic re-arming deadbolt, which ensures that the lock is always locked in two points. The additional locking points are equipped with hook bolts and work in combination with the central mechanism.
These devices have an electrically controlled external handle: this means that the door cannot be opened from the outside simply by lowering the handle, but requires an electrical command from the inside or a key to open the cylinder. The locks are available in two versions:
- Version with normally locked handle: the external handle is unlocked when the electricity is on.
- Version with normally unlocked handle: the external handle is unlocked when the electricity is off.
On the inside, the handle and cylinder always guarantee opening even in an emergency, performing an panic function.
The symmetrical double-action latch allows use on right and left-hand doors. The locks are available with a 55 to 100 mm backset.
