Award recognizes employer branding

ASSA ABLOY’s Maria Romberg Ewerth, Senior Vice President Human Resources, has been named HR Director of the Year within the area of employer branding by Swedish company Universum Global.

The prize is given annually to a human resources manager who has clearly seen the importance of working with employer branding, having anchored this within the company and who is active in initiating as well as supporting activities within the organization.

Employer branding is defined by Universum as “the process of promoting a company, or an organization, as the employer of choice to a desired target group, one which a company needs and wants to recruit and retain. The process facilitates the company’s ability in attracting, recruiting and retaining ideal employees – referred to as Top Talent in recruitment – and helps secure the achievement of the company’s business plan.”

“To be an attractive employer is very important to us, both for our existing employees and for attracting new talent,” Romberg Ewerth says.

“We want to see each employee as an individual, also understanding that the ‘new’ generation – generation Y – has a new understanding of technique that we need to match with opportunities. At the same time we as a company are on a journey of innovation.

“This honor shows that we have started that journey in a way good way. We focus on local initiatives and not ‘one size fits all’.
“All this makes us a more attractive employer and attracts the right talents to the organization.”
