ASSA ABLOY companies scoop security awards Security and safety products from ASSA ABLOY Group companies HID Global and Ameristar have won ASIS Accolades awards, which recognize the industry’s most innovative new technologies, products, solutions and services. HID Mobile Access was selected as an award winner by a panel of judges representing a cross-sector of end-users and technology experts. The solution makes it possible to use the broadest range of smartphones to access buildings and open doors and gates from a distance via Bluetooth Smart and HID Global’s “twist and go” gesture technology: users merely rotate their mobile device as they approach a mobile-enabled reader. The solution is based on ASSA ABLOY’s Seos technology, which preserves privacy by issuing and revoking digital keys to smartphones with end-to-end encryption as part of a unique transaction that protects personal identification data. Ameristar, one of the latest ASSA ABLOY acquisitions, was also among the award winners with its Stalwart Anti-Ram Perimeter Barrier. This barrier recently underwent testing and can stop a 7,000kg truck traveling at 80km/h in less than a meter. The solution offers simplistic tandem installation with seamless integration into all Ameristar security fence solutions. Ameristar’s security fence designs have a unique rail that enables the barrier to incorporate many forms of physical security protection and detection equipment into a single perimeter solution. The rail can be used as a raceway for electrical conduits and a housing unit for intrusion detection sensors and wiring for video, CCTV, and other communications. The solutions are among a range of products that ASSA ABLOY Group is demonstrating this week at the ASIS International 60th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2014) event in Atlanta, the US.
