Partnering up to bring Hi-O to the market

GE Security and Pacom Systems have teamed up with ASSA ABLOY in Australia to bring Hi-O, Highly-Intelligent Opening technology, to the market.

“These partnerships will allow ASSA ABLOY to ‘intelligently integrate’ its technology and products into end-user applications by making use of each company’s individual engineering expertise,” said Martin Brandt, executive vice president ASSA ABLOY, head of Asia Pacific division,

HiO doorHi-O is typically installed to secure perimeter doorway environments and other doors in need of high security and reliability.  Communications between all Hi-O devices in a door solution – including handling access and identity control, code reading, and alarms through auto configuration technology – starts as soon they are installed and connected to each other.

The technology has been installed in around 1,000 doors around the world during it’s test period. The partnership with GE Security and Pacom Systems now brings Hi-O to the Pacific market on a broad front. GE sees potential for Hi-O technology in its popular Challenger access control platform, the most widely-adopted access control platform in Australia and New Zealand.

"GE's mandate is to bring the best possible access control security solutions to our customers and ASSA ABLOY is the leader in access control locking technology.  We are excited to be a major partner in Hi-O’s evolution," said Andrew Goodman, General Manager at GE Security in Australia and New Zealand.

Group companies HID Global, Security Merchants, and channel partner, Direct Alarm Supplies, have also confirmed that they plan to distribute door components equipped with Hi-O technology.
