Cartoon lock caters to children’s needs /Global/Press-and-News/News/2009/mouselock-roadshow524x224.jpg Guli is working with Guangzhou Art College in China on an innovative lock series designed specially for children. In partnership with the college, Guli plans to develop an indoor lock handle depicting one of the Chinese zodiac’s 12 animals, the mouse. Safety and innovation are important in a lock for children. It must be made from soft materials and have no sharp edges. It should be easy to use, include an emergency release device, and be designed to fit a door at a lower position. A few designs went through a Voice-of-Customer process – part of the Group’s Product Innovation Process – at several upscale kindergartens in the Guandong province of China, and most children favored a mouse design. Guli’s marketing team has organized many events and road shows across China to promote the lock. Other Chinese zodiac animals will be added to the design portfolio in the near future. Guli believes that increasing brand recognition at a young age can mean brand loyalty in the future.
